Police Log: Robberies at Hopyard Beauty Shop and UPS Store on Pimlico

Lots of thieves-a-thieving, and more from Dec. 15 to 21.

Afternoon robberies were reported Monday at The UPS Store on Pimlico Drive and Tuesday, Dec. 17, at a beauty-supply business on Hopyard Road, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

In the Dec. 23 UPS case, a white man, 40 to 45 years old, approached a sales clerk at noon and handed her a note demanding money, police said.

She complied, and he grabbed the cash and fled out the front door onto Pimlico and headed east toward Brockton Drive.

No vehicle was seen, but the suspect was further described as being 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, weighing approximately 250 pounds and wearing (what appeared to be) an Oakland Raiders beanie cap, blue jeans and a black jacket that was possibly leather, police said. He also wore black gloves, sunglasses and had a reddish-blonde beard.

Last week, meanwhile, on Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. at Behind the Door Beauty Boutique on the 2800 block of Hopyard Avenue, a suspect also produced a demand note to the employee and fled with cash from the register, police said.

He, too, ran from the store and into a parking lot.

In that case, he was seen wandering in the area for about 10 minutes prior to entering the store, according to law enforcement.

He was similarly described as a white male, 30 to 40, about 6 feet tall with a large, muscular build. He was clean shaven and wore a black "zip-up" leather-like jacket zipped up to his neck, police said.

He also wore a black and white striped knit beanie, possibly with an Oakland Raiders emblem, and light-colored, faded blue jeans. He, too, wore dark black sunglasses, a black leather jacket, and black gloves.

No one was hurt or injured on either case.
