Police Log: Busts for Meth, Pot, Drinking; Plus, Two Mall Shoplifters Flee Security

Car break-ins; DUIs and more from Aug. 18 to 24.

Security workers last week at Nordstrom detained two suspected shoplifters, who then broke free and escaped on foot, according to the Pleasanton Police Department. 

The loss-prevention workers at the Stoneridge Shopping Center department store on Friday afternoon had stopped the pair -- described as a white female and a black male -- as they allegedly exited the store with $110 of stolen clothing.

The case is under investigation, and the incident was categorized as a robbery, records state.

  • Pleasanton male, 19, cited 4:17 p.m. on Blackbird Drive and Valley Avenue for suspected possession of concentrated cannabis and marijuana.
  • Pleasanton woman, 29, arrested 4 a.m. for allegedly being under the influence of controlled substances on the 5900 block of Corte Cerritos.

  • Fraud cases filed: 3:53 p.m. on the 4800 block of  Drywood Street; 7:40 p.m. on the 4900 block of Dolores Drive.
  • Warrant arrest made 7:55 a.m. of Fairfield male, 31, Johnson and Owens drives.
  • Theft arrests: Castro Valley female, 19, 5:08 p.m. on Stoneridge Mall Road; Livermore man, 20, 2:20 p.m. along 5900 Stoneridge Mall.
  • Burglaries reported: 5:48 a.m. on 4800 Hopyard Road; 1:19 p.m. on 1400 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Vandalism: 10:45 a.m. along 6600 Koll Center Parkway. 
  • Robbery reported 12:42 p.m. on 1600 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Bicycle theft: 3:16 p.m. on 4400 Willow Road. 
Thursday, Aug. 22
  • Pleasanton man, 19, arrested 9:51 p.m. along 4100 First Street for suspected DUI and being under the influence of controlled substances.
  • Car break-in: 12:48 p.m. along 4300 Rosewood Drive.
  • Fraud case filed 9:33 a.m. on the 1200 block of Ridgewood Road.
  • Graffiti reported 2:02 p.m. on 4500 First Street.
Wednesday, Aug, 21
  • San Jose male, 58, arrested 5:30 p.m., location unavailable, for suspected DUI and possession of methamphetamine.
  • Oakland man, 30, cited for warrant along 6800 Santa Rita Road 2:15 a.m.
  • Pleasanton male, 59, cited 7:35 a.m. on 6700 Bernal Avenue for driving on suspended license.
  • Thefts from structure: on 4500 Hopyard Road reported 2:01 p.m.; along 8000 Arroyo Drive 5:33 p.m.
  • Theft reported 6:59 p.m. on the 3100 block of Corte Del Cino.
  • Car break-in: 9:54 p.m. on 1000 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Vandalism: 5:44 p.m. on 2100 block of Armstrong Drive.
Tuesday, Aug. 20
  • Pleasanton female, 20. arrested for warrant 8:47 p.m. on 3800 Vineyard Avenue.
  • Pleasanton man, 39, arrested 7:02 p.m. on the 4200 block of First Street for alleged possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and probation violations.
  • Warrant citation: Lodi man, 19, 7:34 p.m. at Raven and Crestline roads.
  • Antioch male, 35, cited 2:18 p.m. along 5300 Hopyard Road for suspected driving on suspended license with no insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle. 
  • Sacramento woman, 18, arrested 1:27 a.m. on 5100 Hopyard Road for allegedly resisting arrest, battery on officer and having a loaded firearm. Her male companion, 19, was also arrested on firearm charges.
  • Sex offenses reported 7:10 p.m. on the 3600 block of Old Santa Rita Road.
  • Fraud case filed 3:09 p.m. on the 1900 block of Rheem Drive.
  • Dublin fire caused by smoke grenade at Camp Parks.

  • Pleasanton male, 19, arrested 1:14 a.m. on 4800 Bernal Avenue for theft and resisting arrest.
  • Public intoxication arrest of Pleasanton male, 42, 10:07 a.m. on 300 Ray Street.
  • Pleasanton woman, 32, arrested 6:03 p.m. on 4200 Rosewood Drive for suspected possession of meth, controlled substances and paraphernalia.
  • San Francisco woman, 30, cited for allegedly driving on suspended license and without a court-ordered interlock device Canyon Way and Stoneridge Mall Road at 10:15 p.m.
