Why do so many people suck? Or am I just reading the news too much?

I know this guy personally; very good person; would give the shirt off his back, his last dollar to someone in need. His wife falseley claimed he beat her, I witnessed her hurting herself and claiming she was going to claim he did it. I was friends with both; this is not one sided. she lied because he told her he wanted out of the relationship. A woman scorned.
