Reader Reactions: Report of Preschooler Tied Up Disturbing

Several Patch readers say they are disturbed by recent reports of a 2-year-old preschooler being tied up for refusing to take a nap, while others applaud the school for how it is cooperating with authorities during a police investigation.

When Patch broke news of a 2-year-old student reportedly being tied up for refusing to take a nap at Centerpointe Christian Preschool, readers responded in the comments section of the article and on Pleasanton Patch's Facebook page to express their reactions.

Many said they were disturbed by the report, while others respect the school for how it is handling the situation. Here's a collection of reader reactions collected from comments posted on Facebook and on Patch:

This is just disgusting...and way too close to home! —Kimberly Terzich

And this happened at a Christian school. Wow. I don't care if it was a past teacher — it happened. Principal should be held responsible as well as teacher. Look at who is being held responsible on Brentwood for an incident just as bad. —Vicki McKnight LaBarge

I actually have more support for the school and the way they are handling it! —Tina Marshall

I just moved here and this is disturbing... I hope the parents stand firm for their child's rights. —Wendy Heister Bernacki

So sick and disturbing! —Sabrina Bush Peters

This church has been a wonderful addition to this community for years. The event, in consequence, was some time ago. The person is no longer employed. The church is doing the Christian thing here. It is nice to know that in Christianity there is also such a thing as honor. —David Boyd

If the preschool can't protect a child from one teacher how will they protect several children. There had to be screaming or crying from the child. Why was none of this heard? My child would be taken out of the school and programs until the staff could prove 100 percent safety of my child. —Kathy Davis
