So, this isn't "official" reporting (i.e. it didn't come from the boy's family or from authorities) but friends tell me that he's OK. As of Monday night, I'm told he was still in ICU but that he is awake and alert and wanting to go home. If I get anymore information, I'll update the story.

Do we have an update of his condition? I think about him everyday, just would like to know if he is ok. He's in my prayers

Josh is doing much better. He is still in ICU but improving daily and can't wait to get home. We want to thank Dana who was the first police officer to arrive, she provided so much comfort to both my wife and I at the most difficult time of our life. And just minuntes later several of Pleasantons paramedic/firemen arrived to literally save our sons life. We still have Josh with us because of these great public servants.
Thank you a million times, Paul Larson

Mr. Larson - thank you so much for giving us this update! So glad to hear your son is doing better -- We're all thinking about him. We've been getting a lot of questions; he's definitely on peoples' minds locally.
