Teen Stabbing Suspect, Charged as an Adult, Will Enter a Plea in October

On Wednesday, court appointed attorney for teen police say stabbed two other teens last week.

A 16-year-old student facing assault with a deadly weapon charges in adult court will have his plea hearing on Oct. 4 at the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice.

Victor Alejandro Garcia, in downtown Pleasanton, appeared in court Wednesday wearing a blue sweatshirt labeled "Alameda County Juvenile Hall."

According to Alameda County Sheriff's Office records, Garcia is being held at Santa Rita Jail on $260,000 bail and is "housed out" to a juvenile housing unit. He was arraigned Monday on felony charges.

On Wednesday, he received a court-appointed attorney, Thomas Knutsen, who asked Judge Jacob Blea III to move Garcia's plea hearing to a later date. Family members attended Wednesday's hearing and spoke to Knutsen using a translator.

The plea hearing is now scheduled for Oct. 4, 2 p.m. in Department 701.
