UPDATE: Police Found Two Guns Inside the Freeman Burton Home

Autopsies will show whether both guns were involved in the deaths of Amy Freeman Burton and her daughter, 13-year-old Ainsley Freeman.

Autopsies are scheduled tomorrow morning for 37-year-old Amy Freeman Burton and her 13-year-old daugther, Ainsley Freeman, and expect them to reveal "new and important facts."

During a search of the home, police recovered two handguns, according to a press release by Lt. Jeff Bretzing.

Neither gun is registered, but Christopher Burton, Amy Freeman Burton’s husband, told investigators they obtained the guns from his brother in Arizona.  It is unknown at this time if either of the guns were used in the shooting, but one was located in the general area of the two victims.

The autopsy and subsequent lab tests of the weapons and ammunition will determine if one or both handguns were involved in the incident, Bretzing said.

According to Christopher Burton, Amy Freeman Burton had recently become paranoid as a result of an incident regarding Ainsley, a Hart Middle School student.

Christopher said he and his wife reported to the Pleasanton Police and the FBI in February of this year that Ainsley was in communication with a suspicious male located in the state of Kentucky, via text messages and photos.  An investigation launched by the Pleasanton Police Department as well as the FBI revealed the individual was a 16-year-old boy and that the activity did not constitute a criminal violation.

"We have no reason to believe at this time there is any connection between this earlier report and the shooting deaths," Bretzing wrote in the release.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.  Anyone with information that might assist detectives with their investigation should contact the Pleasanton Police Department at (925) 931-5100.

They were only in California for 6 months...maybe the family in St Louis can help police to determine any possible suspects or motive involved. So sad... I hope they catch whoever did this soon. Also this news update makes me think more about gun safety.. registering them legally and keeping them in a safe place.
