Cellular Phone Theft Leads to BART Lockdown

A man's cell phone was stolen while he was on BART around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday night, which lead to a lockdown and search of the Dublin side of the Dublin Pleasanton BART station. An off-duty San Francisco Police officer helped to chase the suspect. Dublin Police and Camp Parks assisted BART Police during the search but the suspect was not found. Read the full story here.

Fence Fire

A fence that caught fire on Tuesday night was extinguished by a garden hose before the fire department arrived. The fire, reported at 6705 Corte Del Vista, damaged the gas and electric meters of a nearby residence.

Discrimination Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of Inmates at Santa Rita Jail

The lawsuit, filed by advocates, alleges "inhumane conditions and discriminatory treatment of people with disabilities." The lawsuit was filed in Alameda County Superior Court. Disability Rights Advocates attorney Stuart Seaborn, one of the lawyers representing the plaintiffs, said the suit seeks no monetary damages but aims to compel Alameda County to stop using taxpayer funds to further the allegedly illegal and discriminatory conditions at Santa Rita Jail.
