Woman Killed in Solo Car Crash on I-680 Near Bernal Off-Ramp

Driver's car left the freeway and hit a tree.

By Bay City News Service — A woman was killed Wednesday when her SUV went off northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Pleasanton, crashed into a tree and went down an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol.

  The gold SUV left the freeway at about 5:30 p.m. near the Bernal Avenue off-ramp of I-680, the CHP said.

  The driver was killed after the vehicle hit a tree and rolled down an embankment on the right side of the freeway.
