Four Candidates Running for Open Pleasanton Council Seat

Mark Hamilton, David Miller, Olivia Sanwong and Kathy Narum are all running for the open seat.

Four candidates filed papers with the City of Pleasanton last week to officially declare their intention to run for the open Pleasanton City Council seat, according to Pleasanton city clerk Karen Diaz.

The seat opened with former councilman Jerry Thorne winning the mayoral race last November. The election, which will be by mail-in ballot only, is May 7.

The four candidates are:

  • Mark Hamilton — a veteran and local businessman.
  • David Miller — a smart phone engineer and executive.
  • Olivia Sanwong — a market research analyst.
  • Kathy Narum — a planning commissioner and businesswoman.

The Pleasanton Weekly recently highlighted the candidates in an article.

Ballots will begin to be mailed out on April 8 and April 22 is the last day to register to be eligible to vote.
