Garbage Service Rates to Increase in 2013

The rate increase will take effect on Jan. 1, 2013

From the City of Pleasanton:

The City Council on November 27, 2012 approved a portion of a rate adjustment request from Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. resulting in a five percent rate increase for all commercial and residential customers effective January 1, 2013.

The rate increase covers increases in projected operating costs related to Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc., refuse collection and recycling operations, including the Busch Road Transfer Station operations and a one percent increase to the City franchise fee. The cost of the residential 35-gallon refuse cart service will increase by approximately $1.45/month resulting in a $30.59 per month fee. The 96-gallon refuse cart service will increase by $1.73/month resulting in a $36.30 per month fee.

As part of the rate approval, the City Council authorized the City Manager to continue discussions with Pleasanton Garbage Service concerning outstanding rate and operations issues pertaining to the current franchise agreement, including implementation of Alameda County’s new mandatory commercial recycling law. The City Manager will report back to the City Council regarding these matters within nine months.

Questions regarding refuse and recycling services should be directed to Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc., at info@pleasantongarbageservice.com or by calling (925)846-2042.

This is great to hear! By chance, do you know if the man who helped was Roy Fickin?

So glad you got this resolved. When I saw your plea for help, I put in a call to Public Works andRead More they transferred me to Police/Animal Services. They told me that someone had already been dispatched.

Many thanks to Police/Animal Services. Next order of business is to educate residents not to allowRead More ducks to nest on their property that is not adjacent to natural waterways or canals - it may seem cute, but it's cruel when the mama duck loses babies to cats and storm drains.
