Jerry Thorne is Pleasanton's New Mayor

He defeats Cheryl Cook-Kallio to succeed Jennifer Hosterman.

Pleasanton voters have elected Jerry Thorne as the city's new mayor, according to unofficial election results.

Thorne defeated six-year City Council member Cheryl Cook-Kallio, winning the seat with almost 55 percent of the vote.

In response Wednesday morning, Cook-Kallio thanked her supporters in an email to Pleasanton Patch.

"I have the highest respect for Jerry and wish him the best as he leads our city," she wrote.
