Pleasanton residents are continuing to show up at their designated polling place and anticipating the results.

It's already more than halfway through the day and Pleasanton folks are showing up to make their votes in today's election.

The new open primary format will look different on this year's ballot, which will affect the race for congress as party designation will not be considered. Democrat imcumbent Pete Stark and challenger Eric Swalwell along with Chris Pereja will be an exciting one. More on each of the candidates background and intiatives can be found here.

Proposition 28, which changes time in the legislature from 14 years to 12, and Proposition 29, the new tax on tobacco and related products, will also be on the ballot.
