Kurt Richey, an English teacher, presented the staff appreciation speech. He brought a light-hearted tone to the ceremony, praising the graduates and  telling them they are "the leaders of tomorrow." His speech ended with a loving standing ovation from all of the 2010 graduates.

The Senior Sign Chorus performed a Carrie Underwood song, "Lessons Learned." The Chamber Singers performed, as well, singing the popular song "For Good" from the musical "Wicked."

Prihata Narasimmaraj, Foothill's valedictorian encouraged the students.  She ended high school with over a 4.0 GPA and is  attending Princeton University this Fall. Her accomplishments showed graduates that hard work pays off.

Principal John Dwyer shared one of his many legendary "Rauri Stories," or moral stories relating to his son, Rauri. This final story for the Class of 2010 was about his son saying he would like to be a 'superhero' when he grows up. Dwyer told the graduates that every one of the graduates are superheroes.

He said not all superheroes have the ability to fly or be invisible and that they come in "all shapes and sizes." Dwyer told the students to find out "what superpowers [they] have" and "what superhero [they] want to be." Whatever "superpower" they have, it should be used for justice and for good.

Dwyer specifically mentioned Margie McLaughlin,  John Mannion, and other teachers who will be leaving Foothill High School.

Afterwards, Superintendent John Casey, gave a short speech and an Acceptance of the Graduates.

Finally, the diplomas were awarded to the 530 eager students. 530 classic blue gowns and caps filled the football stadium. 530 students are leaving Foothill to find their superpowers.
