 TRI-VALLEY TELEVISION’S SUMMER CAMP 2012

If your son or daughter is a middle or high school student and is thinking about choosing video production for a future career, Tri-Valley Summer Camp is where they need to be this summer.  Offered by Tri-Valley Community Television, this unique TV Camp includes an introduction to studio production, field production, writing, producing and digital video editing.  The day camp consists of a total of 20 hours and is open to middle and high school students in grades 6 – 12.  Participants will work within a group to produce a TV program.

Now in its fourth year, the popular TV Camp has sold out the past three summers. Register early to ensure a spot. Two sessions will be offered to campers.  The first session will take place June 11-15.  The second session will be available from August 6-10.  Tri-Valley TV Camp will run from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. each day.  The fee is $495 and registration is limited.

For the past three years, students have produced a one hour special that aired on TV30 titled “Tri-Valley Youth View”.  “Students not only had the opportunity to work with our staff at a real television station, but have interviewed Mayors, Congressman, up and coming rock bands, newspaper editors and others,” said Melissa Tench-Stevens, Executive Director of Tri-Valley TV. "We have already had enquiries from residents waiting for us to open the registration.  Our staff enjoys working with the students, and some of the students have gone onto working with us at the station. It is a win-win for all.”

In addition to providing valuable hands-on experience in television production, Tri-Valley TV Camp will give students an overall picture of the production process, helps prepare them for related courses in video and provides an edge for their future in the television industry. Experienced ROP Media instructor Mitch Eason will be returning as Camp Director.

The camp is located at the Tri-Valley Community Television Studios of TV28, TV29 and TV30 which is on the grounds of the Pleasanton Unified School District, 4663 Bernal Avenue, Suite B in Pleasanton.

For more information and to register for the Tri-Valley TV Camp, visit the Tri-Valley TV website at www.trivalleytv.org or phone the station at 925.462.3030.

Many thanks to Police/Animal Services. Next order of business is to educate residents not to allowRead More ducks to nest on their property that is not adjacent to natural waterways or canals - it may seem cute, but it's cruel when the mama duck loses babies to cats and storm drains.
