Fifty High School Bands Will Parade Through Pleasanton for the 37th Year

Every year since 1974, on the 4th Saturday in October, the top high school bands in Northern California and Nevada have gathered in Pleasanton for the Foothill Band Review.

On October 22, for the 37th time, Pleasanton will carry on this grand tradition of hosting the biggest, most competitive, and best-run band review in the area, organizers say.

The Foothill Band Program will welcome more than 50 high schools for a parade, concert and field show competitions — the event doubles as largest yearly fundraiser.

This year’s parade will go on Main Street from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., with Foothill stepping off first. It is free and open to the public.

The concert competition is at from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  

The parade and concert awards are at 3 p.m. at Foothill High School.

The Field Show will be held at Foothill High School from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Field Show Awards begin at 10:15 p.m. 

Tickets and programs will be available for sale on Main Street and at Amador Valley during the parade. Tickets and programs will also be available at Foothill High School.

General Admission is $10. Amador and are competing in the field show. Dublin High School and Wells Middle School are in the parade. The 2011 Grand Marshall for the Foothill Band Review is Valerie Arkin, School Board President.
