Football Playoffs: Amador Valley High Battles Powerhouse De La Salle

The Dons will try to figure out a way to defeat the top ranked and undefeated Spartans

The good news for the Amador Valley High School football team is they are in the semifinals of the NCS Division I playoffs.

The bad news is they have to play De La Salle.

The fifth seeded Dons travel to Concord on Friday night to do battle with the top ranked and undefeated Spartans.

Amador Valley is 8-4 so far this year, including victories over Castro Valley High and San Ramon Valley High in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

De La Salle is 11-0 this season, including a playoff victory last week over Pittsburg High. The Spartans haven't lost a game to a Northern California team in more than 20 years.

De La Salle defeated Amador Valley, 52-24, when the teams played on Oct. 12.

The winner will move on to the championship game between California High and James Logan High on Saturday night.

So glad you got this resolved. When I saw your plea for help, I put in a call to Public Works andRead More they transferred me to Police/Animal Services. They told me that someone had already been dispatched.

Many thanks to Police/Animal Services. Next order of business is to educate residents not to allowRead More ducks to nest on their property that is not adjacent to natural waterways or canals - it may seem cute, but it's cruel when the mama duck loses babies to cats and storm drains.
