Local Kids Donate to SPCA For Their Valentine's Day Celebration

Walnut Grove elementary students join others from around the Tri-Valley in voting to give up their Valentine's Day goodies to help animals instead.

Students from Walnut Grove Elementary School were among many from throughout the East Bay treated to some furry love this month as part of a special Valentine's Day fundraising effort for the SPCA.

Instead of exchanging cards and gifts Erin Diaz's third-graders collected $161 for the East Bay SPCA and in thanks got a visit Friday from a cat and dog brought by Joelle Cook.

While on campus, Cook also took her animals to visit a class of first-graders, who were also donating money for Valentines.
