Pleasanton School Board Approves Calendar Change for 2015-16 School Year

At the June 17th school board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the Modified Lite student instructional calendar beginning with the 2015-16 school year.

In approving the calendar, the Board also directed staff to work with our employee groups to discuss the possibility of a transition plan for the first year (2015-16) of the new "Modified Lite" calendar format that would start school slightly later that year in order to facilitate the transition to the new calendar.

Acting on this recommendation, we have worked with our employee groups on a transition plan that year one (15-16) will resemble the Early Start/Early Finish model without a break in October and with school starting the week of August 10th.

For the 2016-2017 school year, the calendar would be Modified Lite with a one-week break in October.
