Pleasanton Students Expelled for Vandalism

The Pleasanton school board expelled five students on Tuesday night, according to a report in the Pleasanton Weekly.

According to Weekly, the expulsions were for the vandalism which occurred over the Memorial Day weekend at Harvest Park Middle School. During the vandalism, computers in the library were damaged.

Pleasanton Police Sgt. Kurt Schlehuber told the Patch that four students confessed to the break-in after being questioned by school administrators.

"It was one of those things were everyone was talking about what had happened after the holiday weekend," Schlehuber said. "One kid bragged, another student heard the bragging and notified school administration. The school brought in the first student, who confessed and turned on the other three students. They were all good kids, who did a terrible thing. They all came clean and told what and how they did it."

Schlehuber says that the students will not be prosecuted at the request of the school district.

The Weekly reported that the damage from the vandalism is about $25,000.
