Pleasanton Students Win Arts Awards

California State Parent-Teacher Association handed out awards as part of its "Together We Can..." contest

PATCH STAFF — Of the seven Pleasanton students whose works of art were chosen to advance to a California State Parent-Teacher Association art contest, three were named winners.

The seven Pleasanton entries were chosen from a field of 24 entries in this year's contest, which was themed "Together We Can ..."

The following three students were named winners by the state association at an April 28-May 1 ceremony in Long Beach:

Literature award: Sudiksha Gudipati, 1st grader at .

Visual Arts: Sophia Kang, 4th grader at .

Convention Display Award winner, Visual Arts: Linyan Tian, 10th grader at .

And these are the remaining Pleasanton students whose creations advanced to the state level:

Photography: Rylee Galletti, 2nd grader at .

Literature: Sandhya Kalavacherla, 6th grader at .

Film/Video Production: Esther Forest, 3rd grader at .

Many thanks to Police/Animal Services. Next order of business is to educate residents not to allowRead More ducks to nest on their property that is not adjacent to natural waterways or canals - it may seem cute, but it's cruel when the mama duck loses babies to cats and storm drains.
