The Pleasanton Unified School District email system has been down since Oct. 16.
Nicole Steward, the school district spokesperson, says they do not know when the email will be working and asks parents to call the individual school site with any questions as the school district cannot transfer calls to each school.
The phone numbers for each school can be found on the district website.
According to a post on the school district website, they are working to correct the problem:
*District Email Outage*
Good Morning,
We want to inform our parents that the District is having technical difficulties with FirstClass, our email system. We are working diligently to address the problem as quickly as possible. While we are working to fix the problem, you will not be able to contact the office or teachers via email. Please contact staff members by phone until the issue is resolved.
At the least the District should be able to set up a free email address in gmail or some other service so that communications can take place, even if not on the server of the District (with some privacy rules and restrictions). Perhaps some additional postings on teacher websites would assist in the communication process between students and teachers and parents and teachers. Then again, as evidenced by the lack of mandate to have a website or use Zangle perhaps this is not possible.
Ridiculous that they can't fix an email system in 6 days!
