Students Host E-Waste Recycling Event

Hart Middle School will take your unused electronic waste.

If you’re not sure what to do with that old Blackberry phone and ancient VCR player sitting in your closet, bring them to Saturday’s electronic waste recycling fund raiser.

, host of the fund raiser, will accept your unwanted electronics from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Lucky grocery story parking lot at 6155 W. Las Positas Blvd. 

Appliances that will be collected for free include:

  • TVs
  • Computer monitors
  • Cell phones
  • Ink jet cartridges

It will cost $5 per item for the following:

  • Computer units
  • Telephones
  • Printers and copiers
  • DVD and VCR players
  • Fax machines
  • Stereos
  • Video games
  • Small appliances

Cash and check donations are welcome. Proceeds will pay for classroom activities and supplies.

Hart Middle saved nearly 3,000 pounds of electronic waste and raised $400 at its fund raiser last year, according to the school website.

The event will happen rain or shine.
