This tragedy will receive extensive news coverage. If you consider discussing the event with your children over the weekend, it may be helpful to emphasize that an event such as this is extremely rare and that our schools have safety procedures in place. All schools conduct emergency drills, including intruder drills annually and have safety plans in place.

We will have a counselor or a psychologist assigned to each elementary school site on Monday in order to assist any student who may have difficulty dealing with the event. Please let your principal know if you have any questions or concerns. We will continue to review our safety procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We appreciate your ongoing support of our students and schools.
