Village High School Principal Moving to Cupertino School

Principal Greg Giglio posted a letter to parents on Facebook

Village High School Principal Greg Giglio announced today via Facebook that he has taken a job as a principal in Cupertino. Giglo, who has been the principal of the alternative-education school on Bernal Avenue for over seven years, wrote to students and parents to tell them he would be taking his new post in January.

Giglio said the process had begun to find his replacement.

Giglio wrote:

Dear Village Family and Friends,

After seven wonderful years at Village, I have chosen to leave the district and have accepted a new position as a comprehensive high school principal in Cupertino starting in January 2013. We have accomplished many wonderful things during these past years and it has been my pleasure to be a part of the Village family.

The process to select the next principal has already begun and the position has been posted. As part of the process, the district would like to invite parents to participate by coming to a meeting on Thursday November 29th at 6:00pm in the Village Multipurpose Room to discuss what qualities you would like to see in the next principal. Student feedback will be collected at a meeting on November 28th.

The initial interview will be on December 6th and will include district personnel along with Village staff and parents. The final decision could possibly be made by mid December, and I will begin working with the successful candidate to help make as smooth a transition as possible.

If you are unable to attend the 11/29th meeting, please feel free to send your feedback to Bill Faraghan, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources (bfargahan@pleasantonusd.net).

I will truly miss the students and staff who have been so wonderful to me during my time here. I wish all the best to you and to Village in the coming new year.

All the best,

Greg Giglio
Alternative Education Principal
