Parents in the Pleasanton Unified School District are anxiously waiting to find out if their students will have a new school schedule for the 2015-16 school year.

Four alternatives to the traditional year are currently up for consideration, according to a presentation on the district website. The presentation lists the "potential benefits" and "potential challenges" for each of the proposed schedules in the presentation. Click here to view the full presentation.

"If there is to be any change, it will be decided at a board meeting by the end of this school year, no later than September 2014," District spokesperson Nicole Steward said. "Any change decided upon will not be implemented until the 2015-16 school year so folks have a full school year notice."

The district held three meetings in March to garner input from parents.

Steward says parents are encouraged to share their opinions about the school schedule via the link on the website or by emailing instcal@pleasantonusd.net.
