Local Martial Arts School Wins Award

Esteller Martial Arts has been teaching kids to protect themselves since 1984.

Esteller Martial Arts of Pleasanton and San Leandro has been named "School of the Year for 2013-2014" by the Kilohana Martial Arts Association, a non-profit martial arts group based out of Campbell.

The martial arts studio teaches "kajukenbo" martial arts, which is a blend of karate (ka), ju jitsu (ju), kempo (ken) and Chinese boxing or kung fu (bo). Esteller was awarded the Patch Readers' Choice Award in 2012. Patch profiled the studio, owned by Ron Esteller, in 2012.
