Amador Valley High Rap Video: What is a Don Anyway?

Watch the video to see what the 'Don Squad Rappers' came up with this year. The Dons will take on Granada High tonight for their first game in the North Coast Section playoffs.

The Amador Valley High Dons have tradition of posting rap videos each football season to get students pumped for games and this year's song asked "What is a Don Anyway?"

The video was directed and posted on Youtube by senior Catherine Woodwell who tweeted the video via the Amador Valley High Twitter account to rally for the school the day before the 'Battle of Pleasanton' last week. Amador may have lost to Foothill that night but they plan to win tonight in their game against Livermore.

Woodwell is one of the directors for the Don Squad Rap and handles the "AVPurplePit" Twitter account.

"This year we filmed and edited the video in about six days," Woodwell said. "Both the performers and the people shown in the video are all students at Amador. It's a really neat tradition that all the students look forward to every year."

The rap was performed by Brian Gove, Conor O'Leary and Max Molz, according to the video credits. Woodwell says the Dons have posted rap videos since 2006 to convey their purple pride. Click here to watch the "Amador Valley Rap" posted last year.

The Amador Valley High Dons will play Granada High in Livermore tonight at 7 p.m. Amador was 5-5 this football season.

Foothill High will be at home on Saturday playing Freedom High in a 'Falcon versus Falcon' battle.
