Amador Valley High Softball Gets Number One Seed In NCS Playoffs

The Amador Valley High softball team has earned the number one seed in the North Coast Section Division I championship.

The playoff brackets were announced Sunday afternoon.

The Dons have a first-round bye. They will play the winner of the Wednesday afternoon game between eighth seeded San Ramon Valley High and ninth seeded Santa Rosa High.

The second round game will be played on either Friday or Saturday at Amador Valley High.

The Dons finished the regular season with a 22-2 record. They've won their last nine games, all by shutout.

They finished league play with a 13-1 record, tied for first with second seeded California High in the East Bay Athletic League.

The Dons are ranked second in the nation and second in the state.

Amador Valley finished 24-1 last season. Their only loss was a 1-0 defeat to James Logan High in the NCS championship game.
