Boys Volleyball: Top-Seeded Amador Passes First Test

The Star: Junior setter Dan Cleland was sensational with 32 assists and three blocks to lead the Dons to the win.

The Turning Point: There wasn't a moment in the game when there was any doubt Amador would dispatch the Colts.

The Quote: "We started off a little tentative," Amador coach Aaron Harper said. "But that's to be expected in an NCS game, we got the nerves out of the way and played well."

Who's Next?: Amador will host Deer Valley on Thursday at 7 p.m., the fourth-seeded Wolverines swept Cal in Antioch on Tuesday.

The Bottom Line: The Dons did what is expected of the No. 1 seed, but the road will get tougher from here. Deer Valley has won 21 of its last 24 matches and was undefeated in Bay Valley Athletic League play.
