It wasn't exactly baseball weather, but baseball indeed was played.
Players, coaches and parents gathered on the fields at Valley Avenue and Hopyard Road on Saturday to officially kick off the 2012 season for Pleasanton American Little League.
The opening ceremonies were held under ominiously cloudly skies. Cold air forced everyone to bundle up.
The rains held off all morning long, so teams were able to get in their games on three fields in the large sports complex.
Pleasanton American has almost 500 boys playing in their league this season.
