In Photos: Opening Day Soccer Parade

The 45th annual BUSC/ RAGE soccer opening day parade started at 7:30 a.m. on Main Street in Pleasanton. Do you recognize any of these faces?

Hundreds turned out this morning for the 45th annual Ballistic United Soccer Club and Pleasanton Rage girls soccer opening day parade in Pleasanton. The parade was comprised of 140 teams that marched eagerly down Main Street early this morning.

The caffeine may have still been kicking in for the parents but the kids dressed up in creative costumes representing their teams walked the parade route sporting huge smiles.

Mark Hjerpe, the RAGE Vice president of recreational soccer, says he marched in the same parade in 1973 as a soccer player.

The parade has been a tradition to kick-off soccer season in Pleasanton since 1969, according to the soccer club website.  BUSC and RAGE alternate each year running the parade.

See anyone you recognize? Was your team in the parade? Give them a shout out in the comments section below. Share your pics from the parade by posting them in our town square announcements section on the site.
