Wet Weather Leads to Game Cancellations

Opening games for a local girls's softball league will not go on Saturday as planned.

The Pleasanton Girls Softball League has cancelled its opening day games and activities scheduled for tomorrow, including a pancake breakfast, because of the storm that hit the East Bay today.

On the league's website, president Rich Martin writes the decision was made "due to the ominous weather forecast for the remainder of this week and weekend."

"This is not an easy decision to make, but I feel it is only fair to give everyone plenty of notice on what looks like an inevitable cancellation," he said.

The league's opening games were scheduled to begin tomorrow morning at Sports Park, but are now cancelled because the park is currently closed, as are all of Pleasanton's fields, according to the city's sports webpage.
