Time to Register for Summer Camps In Pleasanton and Dublin

Enrollment is underway or starts soon for many summer camps. Here's a selection of camps from Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore.

With the choice and variety of summer camps available in 2013, boredom won't be an option.

Organizations, from the YMCA to your local parks and recreation department, offer dozens of camp choices for science, theater, sports, music and more. Whether you're looking for an all-around experience or a more focused camp, this list features a few in your town and in cities nearby. (Feel free to suggest other camps in the comments below.)

Pleasanton

Name: Tri-Valley YMCA Summer K through 12.
Type of camp: Outdoors, arts, crafts, music, field trips.
Cost: K through 8th $199 per week; 9th through 12th leadership camp $129 per week.
Where: St. Elizabeth Seton gym, 4001 Stoneridge Drive. (Aug. 20 to 24 at Tri-Valley YMCA.)
When: June 17 through Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free extended care offered.

Name: City of Pleasanton Summer Camps 2013

Type of camp: All ages; weekly variety to be announced end of March and will include Ridge Runners, Summer Explorers and Seekers, drama camp and new teen camp.

Name: Sunol Valley Golf Club Junior Camp.
Type of camp: Four-day golf camps; full-days for intermediate and advanced players, half-days for beginners and intermediates. 
Cost: $295 full-day; $195 half-day.
Where: Sunol Valley Golf Club, 6900 Mission Road.
When: Full-day camps (8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) June 25 to 28 and Aug. 6 to 9; half-days (8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) on June 18 to 21 and July 16 to 19.

Name: Bay Area Shakespeare Camps 2013
Type of camp: Two-week theater for youth 7 to 18.
Cost: $489 for camp; $629 with aftercare. 
Where: Trinity Lutheran Church, 1225 Hopyard Road.
When: July 22 to Aug. 2, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shakespeare Players 7 to 13, and Upstart Crows for ages 12 to 18.

Dublin

Name: City of Dublin Summer Camps 2013

Type of camp: All ages; weekly variety to be announced mid-April.

Name: Spectrum Of Science!

 Type of camp: Hands-on, kid-friendly science curriculum.

Cost: Per week $195 for half-day sessions; $335 for full days, plus camp-specific material fees. $15 discount for military families.
Where: Camp Parks Club House, Dublin.
When: June 24 to July 28, half days 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., full days 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Extended care available.)

Name: East Bay SPCA Animal Camp for grades 1 through 8.

Type of camp: Pet care, games, crafts, interaction, and training exercises for older campers.
Cost: $375/week, full day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $200 for younger kids' half-day camps.
Where: Dublin Adoption and Education Center, 4651 Gleason Drive, Dublin.
When: Grades 1 to 3 full-day June 17-21 and July 22-26, half-day July 8-12; grades 4 to 5 full day June 24-28, July 15-19, July 29-Aug.2; grades 6 to 8 Aug. 5-9 or Aug. 12-16.

Type of camp: Lacrosse for boys U7 to U15 and girls U7 to U15
Cost: $375 (early-bird, goalie and U7 half-day options available.)
Where: Dublin Sports Grounds, 6700 Dublin Blvd.

Type of camp: Four-week, acting and theater day-camp for ages 7 to 17.
Cost: $1,100 with 10 percent discount for enrollment before July 1.

When: July 15 to Aug. 9, Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Type of camp: Water safety, CPR, rescue, first aid for ages 8 to 13.

Type of camp: Three camps: Camp of the Wild for ages 9 to 12; Little Farm Camp ages 8 to 11; Advanced Little Farm Camp, ages 12 to 15.
Cost: $200 to $250 per weekly sessions for residents,varies by selection. (Non-resident fees are higher.)
Where: Tilden Nature Area north of Tilden Regional Park.

Name: Oakland Zoo Camps for 2013.
Type of camp: Science and nature for pre-K through high school.
Cost: Ranges by camp from $196 to $316 for members; $216 to $336 for non-members.
