Week in Review: I580 Injury Collision, BART Death Investigation and Eddie Griffin Legal Drama

Some of the stories that made news this past week in Pleasanton.

Train track trespassing: Livermore resident Laura Rensink was fined $6000 for citation she received after illegally crossing the train tracks in Livermore.

Collision on Highway 580:
Three people were injured during a collision on eastbound Highway 580 near Hacienda Drive on Tuesday. The collision happened after a piece of a crane loaded onto a big rig swung out and hit a nearby SUV. Two of the occupants, a 7-year-old boy and an adult, jumped out of the truck cab and jumped over a freeway wall, dropping about 20 feet into the ditch on the south side of the freeway near the BART station to escape the fire. The two were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The collision snarled trafic for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the freeway lanes.


BART death investigation: BART police are still investigating the death of a . A preliminary review from the Alameda County coroner's bureau found . Investigators are reviewing video and interviewing witnesses.
