I always say "Where does the hungry lion go to feed...." Smaller communities are notRead More immune from crime, criminal elements will "Hunt" where the targets of lease resistance are. As a security specialist and defensive tactics instructor I can honestly say I do not believe families are prepared for what our future holds.
user May 16, 2013 at 02:55 pm
The description of the attackers sounds just like the 2 that rob the New York Pizza/Taco Bell onRead More Santa Rita

What is wrong with people?
Police found the missing 15-year-old at Stoneridge Mall.
A Reader May 15, 2013 at 07:07 pm
Sad that police resources were wasted on a runaway. She needs to be made to pay the cost of theRead More search.
corina kalivoda May 16, 2013 at 06:32 pm
My recommendation is 0.00 % - way to many accidents happen under influence [each body reactsRead More different to every sip of alcohol]

shoplifters use BART robbers use stolen cars
Umjussayin May 12, 2013 at 04:54 pm
Wow are you delusional...do you think that Bart increased home prices? In truth It's an easy-accessRead More pipeline for criminals who can no longer rob banks and businesses in their own areas because those businesses have take proper precautions against them! If you do like the crime you should move to Oakland or SF!
Umjussayin May 12, 2013 at 04:46 pm
Why don't the banks hire an armed guard!?! If it's budget cuts, it's probably cheaper to hire aRead More guard than let the robbers take the money. To incentivise the guard, he/she gets a bonus equivalent to the amount of money that would have been stolen! Or just fire one of the useless "mortgage bankers" and hire someone to protect the people who work at the bank! YIKES...this is ridiculous! AND yes it is BART that has exacerbated the problem here! It's much more convenient to take BART to a relatively affluent area where there are easier "marks" and they don't even need a car anymore but of course they usually steal one anyway! They don't rob banks in crime-ridden areas because those banks and businesses have taken the proper precautions and hired armed guards! Wise up Pleasanton before someone (the wrong person) gets killed!
Umjussayin May 12, 2013 at 04:20 pm
THANK YOU BART!!! Now they don't even need a car to commit the crime! Why not have an armed guard inRead More a place that gets robbed at gun point? Are you afraid of a law suit for shooting a criminal...WTF has this world come to???
Mike smith May 10, 2013 at 02:48 am
Not laxed security, just the bank not caring.. Cost of doing business. Banks are insured for theRead More loss. If they cared their video would be HD quality and would be like Las Vegas cameras...
Pleasanton Mom May 7, 2013 at 10:59 pm
Haven't we now seen a few recent bank robberies around here? I think I recall one earlier thisRead More year and one in Dublin. Am I remembering correctly? if this is the case, I wonder if our banks are considered easy marks or something. Do we have lax security around here? I've lived here for a few decades so can't say I've banked out of town anytime over the years.

This is an international story
The Nicer Pleasanton Mom May 8, 2013 at 12:14 pm
What a tragic loss for our community. My heart goes out the friends and family and hope the rootRead More cause is determined, so as to prevent future similar occurrences. May they rest in peace.
Janice P Ellis May 8, 2013 at 09:52 am
Did you really have to post this, Steve? You may have THOUGHT it, but, I fail to see the logic inRead More your posting it. This tragic event is not about where the five women who perished and the 4 who survived lived and live. It's about the tragic loss of life on a night that was meant for happiness and celebration. Show a little compassion.
Hot rod May 13, 2013 at 12:19 pm
The case was dropped because a thorough investigation was completed. Get over it.
Mike smith May 10, 2013 at 02:58 am
And for the charges being dropped, blame Pleasanton police for a bad investigation and reportRead More writing. Tell a story, paint a picture... DA's office has to have all facts and evidence from the Pleasanton Police department. Obviously the officers/investigators did a bad job with the entire investigation. Maybe more training is required...hmmmm
Mike smith May 10, 2013 at 02:54 am
Exactly....I blame the editor.. She has too much power..but she does work for the patch becauseRead More she/they can Make it on CBS, ABC or KTVU.

Mr. Hogarty: Were you "truly sorry" when you listed the victims named in these charges inRead More your fraudulent bankruptcy that was thrown out in an attempt to make it impossible for them to seek refunds from you? Why wait to tell the truth until after this is over? Wouldn't you want to tell the courts the truth before this is settled? Which version of the truth should we expect to hear? The version you told the DOJ that led to the perjury charges against you? You've not been silent at all and your previous comments over the last two years are all over this web site and many others. You are still not a victim no matter how hard you try to make yourself out to be. Please tell the truth to the courts, admit what you did and accept the consequences so everyone can move on. Your co-conspirators have apparently spilled it and it appears that the hundreds of thousands of tax payer money spent on audits of you supports what they've said. Be honest and then throw yourself at the mercy of the courts. And don't do anyone any favors by not "going public" with your latest version of the "truth" until the charges are settled. If the truth is so angelic, why wouldn't you use the "truth" as a defense to these criminal charges?
If you only knew May 14, 2013 at 12:05 am
Mr. Hogarty: Were you "truly sorry" when you listed the people named as victims in theRead More charges filed when you tried to claim them in your bankruptcy as creditors? Why wait to tell the truth until after the charges are resolved? Wouldn't you be inclined to tell the truth to the courts instead of lying to them which led to the perjury charge you now face? You should come clean, admit what you did and accept the consequences so everyone can move on. These are not rumors, something you know, and something your co-conspirators admitted to the DA and/or under oath in a federal proceeding. Please do post the check you gave Ms. Jacobs as proof you kept part of the feed you defrauded her out of for yourself. I'm sure the DA would appreciate it too.

He's out on bail. $100K I think. I don't know how he got a license to sell insurance if he has oneRead More since he has other convictions and had his real estate license revoked many years ago.
geekmom April 18, 2013 at 11:04 pm
My son was suspended for defending himself. Total BS. And they wonder why we keep on pulling ourRead More kids out of the school system.
TrueRealist April 18, 2013 at 01:24 pm
I wonder where the parents of the 15 year were while she was getting black out drunk? Where were theRead More parents of the 3 boys? Sounds like quality parenting. It just seems funny to me that you continue to see bad things happen to all of these "great" kids who were engaged in illegal activity.
Speedie B April 18, 2013 at 12:57 am
Because it's easier to give 'blanket' discipline rather than do the right thing and hold someRead More accountable for their actions. Socialism creep.
Kimberly White April 15, 2013 at 05:22 pm
Go to http://www.redcross.org/find-help/contact-family/register-safe-listing to register and locateRead More loved ones who may have been at the marathon.
Pleasanton Mom April 15, 2013 at 06:44 pm
Wow, this is actually really good news. It's nice to hear that all were in compliance instead ofRead More having to read which ones weren't. Bravo!
Amazed April 13, 2013 at 01:43 am
Hey Pleasanton Resident-- just give me whatever hallucinogenics you're taking. And good luck to youRead More in 'Jonestown'. Friendly advice-- stay away from the cool-aid. But from the looks of it, you've already been drinking it. heh.
Pleasanton Resident April 11, 2013 at 01:55 pm
Seriously. There is no cover up and you need some Zanex.
Pleasanton Resident April 11, 2013 at 01:55 pm
I am still trying to figure out why the actions of some f'ing idiot that tapes up kids means thatRead More the management of the school are horrible and disgusting people? The management can't be in every room watching all the time. All they can do is hire people they think will do a good job. And for the record, Robitaille didn't hire this idiot. She was hired by the FORMER director that everyone seems to love so much.
Clay Goetz April 9, 2013 at 04:19 pm
Can I blame your parents for your excessive use of exclamation points?
EC April 4, 2013 at 11:02 am
annnnnnd once again, where are the parents in all of this and why do they allow him to doRead More it??????????????? Starts at home folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
