Amador Theater

The Amador Theater is a performing arts facility located in Pleasanton. Built in the 1930s as part of the Amador ValleyMore High School campus, the theater has become one of the main performing arts venues for Pleasanton. In 1989, the theater was newly renovated. Amador Theater is a public work, owned and operated by the city of Pleasanton. Tickets for events may be purchased through Civic Arts Tickets, either online or at the Amador Theater box office.

Amador Valley High School is one of four high schools in the city of Pleasanton, serving about 2,600 students. TheMore school graduated it's first class in 1923. It has been recognized as a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School. The school's Math Team, Marching Band, Mock Trial, Robotics Team and it's Team for "Competition Civics" have all participated and placed in national and state competitions.</p> <p>The school's athletic teams have competed and won championships in the East Bay Athletic Leagues. It offers a variety of programs for it's students, including Advanced Placement, Honors, Career Pathways, Regional Occupational Program, Independent Study and Special Education.</p> <p>Located on Santa Rita Road, just a few minutes walk from downtown Pleasanton, the school's campus is a sprawling one, complete with a multipurpose room, a library, media center and music building. The school enjoys much support from it's parents groups, which includes the Parent Teacher Student Association, Amador Friends of Music and the Amador Athletic Boosters.</p> <p>The school's mascot is the Don. </p>

Amador Valley Adult and Community Education is a department of the Pleasanton Unified School District, route:More {:controller=>"local_facts", :action=>"show", :id=>"pleasanton-public-schools"} --> and a member of the <!-- name: Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. It offers classes designed for students 18 years and older, with subjects including English as a second language, career technical education, parent education, adult high school diploma (GED) programs, health and safety, computers and personal enrichment. The organization's goal is to provide lifelong educational opportunities and personal enrichment for community members. A special focus is given to offering free classes to adults 55 years and older. A course schedule and brochure is printed twice a year, and information and registration are also available online. Classes are held at various school campuses and senior citizen facilities in Pleasanton, including Village High School (4645 Bernal Ave., also the location of the Amador Valley Adult and Community Education offices).
