Before coming to Patch, I was the editor/publisher of Parents' Press, a magazine for Bay Area parents, for more years than I like to remember. Before that, I was news editor at the Contra Costa Times and a reporter at various Northern California newspapers. I'm a fifth generation Californian who has lived in the East Bay most of my life and a graduate of UC Berkeley. For fun, I volunteer on archaeology digs, mostly in Ireland and the Southwest. I live with a gorgeous but none-too-bright springer spaniel and an aging, opinionated cat. My brilliant and beautiful daughter, Jenny, is a school psychologist in Los Angeles.
