Eulogy for Amber Seymore

Date of death December 3, 2012 around 8:40 a.m.

When my sister, Amber, passed away unexpectedly December 3, it was devastating. Writing this eulogy to my sister has helped me deal with the grief and I hope it can help you too.

My sister, Amber, and I were not close in age; I was almost 10 when she was born. Amber was a very bright girl who was successful at whatever she attempted. Even though she was dyslexic, she worked hard at school and graduated from high school with honors and went on to earn a degree from Waylon Baptist College. She immediately enrolled in graduate school and got her Master’s degree at night while working full time. She loved her job working as an outside sales person at CSC in North Carolina.

Even though my sister was a brilliant person who was very strong willed I always looked out for her. I was happy to help her whenever she needed me, even though she was usually determined to solve problems on her own. I remember in high school how devastated she was when her boyfriend and her broke up because they went to different universities. I had never seen her so upset and I was glad that I could be there for her.

Amber married a few years ago and her husband Robert is a great man. They have three children, Robert, Alexandra, and Abigail. As their guardian I will be there to help whenever needed and help them understand and learn about their mother who was such a wonderful woman.

My sister was a hard worker but enjoyed her free time. You could often find her in her organic vegetable garden or out with her girlfriends shopping. She loved her family and friends very much. I spent many weekends at her house at one of our fabulous BBQ’s.

It is so sad that Amber’s life ended so early in such a tragic way. It is hard to accept that she will no longer be with us. She had a loving family and friends and a brilliant career. No one was prepared for this tragedy and it can be difficult to understand how life works sometimes. Take solace in knowing that Amber is now in heaven. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. We will all be proud of her accomplishments forever and will never forget how wonderful a person she was. God bless you.

In 2011, she moved to North Carolina and took a new job with Communications Supply Corporation, which gave her the flexibility she desired and a new start. She made many friends fast, and felt like she had moved her family to the right place. She was excited about the
possibilities in front of her.

Tragically, her life was cut short three weeks ago. She has left behind three children, Robert, Alexandra and Abigail. They have moved in with their uncle David and aunt Shelly in Nashville Tennessee, where they will live and settle into a family of eight.

Amber is also survived by her father Denny Harris of Pleasanton, CA her mother Barbara "Sparky" Spurlock of Clovis, CA, brothers Michael Harris of Marysville and David Harris of Nashville, TN and sister Lisa Sullivan of Pleasanton, CA.
