Photo of the Week: Sunol Water Temple

Do you know what the words around the top of the temple say? Patch loves photos! Upload your photos to Pleasanton Patch and you could be featured.

This photo of the Sunol Water Temple was sent to us by Tony Zwetsloot of Danville.
The temple is well-known in Tri-Valley as a beautiful spot for picnics and weddings. The temple was built in 1910 at the spot where three subterranean water sources converged, according to Wikipedia.

Wikipedia says, "Prior to the construction of the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct, half of San Francisco's water supply passed through the Sunol temple."

The inscription around the top of the temple reads:

"I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry lands springs of water. The streams whereof shall make glad the city. S.V.W.C. MCMX"

Zwetsloot has shared some breath-taking photos with Patch in the past— taken from his bird's-eye view of the Tri-Valley from his powered parachute.

If you have an awesome photo of nature, breath-taking scenery, kids caught being kids, a pet doing something funny or something unusual you happen to catch with your camera, we'd love to feature it on Patch.

Post it for free in our "Town Square" section on the site or email it to autumn.johnson@patch.com.
