Sprouts & Shutters: Voodoo Kitchen Becomes The Cove Bistro

The restaurant does away with "Voodoo" and has been rebranded with a new name, fresh interior and more diverse menu

The name and ambiance may have changed but many of the menu favorites from the Voodoo Kitchen can still be found at The Cove Bistro. Manager Sean Fei says the Voodoo Kitchen menu was expanded after customers said they wanted more options other than simply seafood.

"Our menu still has most of our old items such as the seafood boils," Fei said. "We have gone back to the drawing board to improve our old recipes as well as adding many new items to choose from. Our whole purpose here is to provide great food quality, most fresh seafood and make customers like us."
According to Fei, the redesign of the inside of the restaurant was also based on customer feedback.
"Another important topic that kept resurfacing was our ambiance and that our interior needed an upgrade and remodel," Fei said. "So we shut down the beginning of July to do just that. We remodeled to provide a fresher, new and better atmosphere and a more semi formal dining room setting."

Why the name change? Fei says customers were associating "Voodoo Kitchen" with superstition rather than the traditional southern cuisine found in areas that are associated with the practice of voodoo.
Fei added, "We care a great deal about our customers opinions and hope these new changes will satisfy The Cove patrons."
