Bicyclist Seriously Injured at Pleasanton Ridge Park

Helicopter landed on trail to take bicycle crash victim to trauma center.

A bicyclist was seriously injured Saturday morning when he crashed on a trail on the west side of the Pleasanton Ridge, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

The man's injuries were potentially life-threatening so a Stanford Life Flight helicopter landed on the Thermalito Trail to fly him to a hospital.

The cyclist was riding with his son-in-law, who helped rescuers find them on the trail. The accident was reported around 9:30 a.m.

The rider was wearing a helmet. Firefighters remind visitors to the East Bay Regional Park to know their location and to carry a map.
