Despite Bacteria, Shadow Cliffs Water Safe to Swim

Swimmers are advised to use caution when swimming and avoid drinking the water.

The water at Shadow Cliffs Beach has tested positive for high levels of bacteria, according to the East Bay Regional Park's website.

The current condition is listed as, "Beach is open, increased health risk."

Shelly Lewis, spokesperson for the East Bay Regional Parks, says this increase in bacteria happens even season.

"This tends to happen with the heat which can make bacteria grow," said Lewis. "The water is still okay to swim in."
