Handguns Used in Attempted Robbery on Santa Rita Road

The two suspects ran out of the New York Pizza and Taco Bell without taking any money.

Pleasanton police are looking for two men that pointed handguns at employees in an attempted robbery at the New York Pizza and Pasta and Taco Bell on the 4000 block of Santa Rita Road Tuesday night, according to Lt. Jim Knox.

During the robbery, which happened at about 10:40 p.m., one of the suspects appeared to signal to the other and the two then ran out of the Taco Bell without any money. They were last seen running south through a parking lot towards Rosewood Drive.

The night before, at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, there was an attempted robbery by two men reported at the Nation's on the 5300 block of Hopyard Road. The descriptions of the men were similar to the men in Tuesday night's robbery. In the incident, the suspect left in a four-door Honda.

One of suspects is described as 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-11 or 6-feet, 160-170 pounds and black. He was wearing a black ski mask, a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with white lettering “Hollister” across the chest, dark baggie blue jeans, and black gloves with yellow webbing between the fingers.

The other suspect was also described as 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-8 to 6-feet and weighing about 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing black ski mask, a grey hooded sweatshirt, faded baggie blue jeans, grey gloves and had a black backpack or messenger bag.
