Bicyclist Injured on Pleasanton Ridge Taken to Hospital By Helicopter

The 54-year-old man was flown to a local hospital for his injures.

A 54-year-old bicyclist was injured while at the Pleasanton Ridge Park this afternoon, according to officials at the East Bay Regional Parks. 

Spokesperson Emily Hopkins says around 1 p.m. the East Bay Regional Parks assisted with the rescue of the injured man.  According to Hopkins, the man was injured but conscious and was taken by the East Bay Regional Parks helicopter to a local hospital.

Hikers in the area reported seeing emergency crews near the Foothill Staging area shortly before 1 p.m.

Hopkins says no other information about the rescue was currently available.
