Fourth Grade Teacher Appointed as Vice Principal

Lydiksen's own Jacob Berg will likely be covering three school sites for the 2013-14 school year.

Fourth grade teacher Jacob Berg has recently been promoted to Vice Principal at the Pleasanton Unified School District. Berg, who is currently finishing his ninth year as a teacher at Lydiksen Elementary, will be covering several schools as the Vice Principal within the district for the 2013-14 school year.

About halfway through the school year, Berg was asked by Principal Mindy Bolar to take on the administrative duties of the Vice Principal two days a week. A substitute teacher handled Berg's classes during those two days each week.

In his new full-time role next year, Berg will provide supervision, discipline and work on projects, in addition to providing support and assisting the principal as needed.

Before becoming a teacher, Berg says he worked in San Francisco as systems engineer for a start-up called Loopnet.com. Berg received his principal credentials in 2009, after going back to school at California State University East Bay to complete the Educational Leadership program.

Berg his two children and his wife, who is a teacher in the San Ramon Valley School District live in Dublin.
