Police Log: Car and Business Break-Ins; Plus, Night Swimmers Busted in Laguna Oaks Pool

Alcohol arrests, regional fires and more incidents from June 30 to July 6.

Four men face trespassing charges after being caught swimming Tuesday night in the Laguna Oaks neighborhood pool, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

Police arrested three Pleasanton males, 22, 21 and 20, along with a 22-year-old Berkeley man at 11:20 p.m. at the clubhouse facility on the 2700 block of Lylewood Drive, records state.

In other area news, burglars targeted cars and businesses last week, making off with as much as $24,000 of electronics in one incident and as little as a purse and wallet with $2 cash inside in another, according to files.   

Saturday, July 6

  • Car break-in reported 6:20 p.m. at the Sports Park on 5800 Parkside Drive, with window smashed and a $40 purse, $20 wallet and $2 in cash taken.
  • DUI arrest of female 1:40 a.m. South Valley Trails and Hopyard Road.
  • Male arrested for suspected public intoxication 10:18 p.m. on 3100 Santa Rita Road.
  • Vandalism reported 2:41 a.m. on the 4100 block of Payne Road.
  • Vehicle tampering logged 3:12 p.m. along 5500 West Las Positas Boulevard.
Friday, July 5
  • Car break-ins reported: 4:12 p.m. and 4:16 p.m. on 1000 Stoneridge Mall Road. A $500 camera and $200 of baseball caps taken in one incident; window smashed and $900 camera and $50 backpack stolen in the other. 
  • Pleasanton female arrested for suspected domestic battery 2:14 a.m. on the 4000 block of Cid Way.
  • Suspected public intoxication arrests: Pleasanton male 5:35 a.m. on the 700 block of Mirador Court; male 11:12 p.m. on 6400 Owens Drive.
  • Commercial burglary reported 9:51 a.m. along 6000 Johnson Drive.
  • Female arrested 11:32 p.m. for DUI Valley Avenue at Blackbird Lane.
  • Assault reported 7:59 p.m. on 5300 Owens Court.
  • Vandalism reported 2:12 p.m. on 1000 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Fraud case filed 3:14 p.m. along 4000 Stanley Boulevard.
  • Theft arrest, with priors, of male 4:58 p.m. on 1500 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Theft arrest 5:22 p.m. on 1300 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Ruptured pipe floods downtown Danville.
  • Riders rescued from ride at Alameda County Fair.
Thursday, July 4
  • Vandalism reports: 3:57 a.m. on 6800 Santa Rita Road; 8:10 a.m. Calle Alegre and Via Del Cielo; 9:19 a.m. on 900 Clinton Place; 8:49 p.m. along 2500 Hopyard Road.
  • Male arrested 1:02 p.m. for domestic battery on the 4500 block of Augustine Street.
  • Warrant arrest 3:48 p.m. West Neal Street at Railroad Avenue.
  • Car break-in reported 1:41 p.m. on the 3700 block of Ashwood Drive.
  • Commercial burglary reported 10:44 p.m. along 3900 Valley Avenue, with entry through rear door and $24,000 of laptops, video-game players, car stereo equipment and a vintage Indian knife declared stolen.
  • Drunk-and-disorderly arrest of male 12:31 p.m. on 1800 Santa Rita Road.
  • Triple arrest 11:50 p.m. on 4400 Rosewood Drive: Pleasanton male, 21, for possession of stolen property; Pleasanton male, 19, for resisting arrest; San Ramon male, 20, for theft and possession of stolen property. The trio reportedly stole a Walmart employee's purse from her car and were caught after a witness called police. 
  • Brush fire 7:30 p.m. on Iron Horse Trail, Dublin.
  • Fifty-acre brush fire on I-580 9:50 a.m.
Wednesday, July 3
  • Bicycle theft reported 12:15 p.m. along 4400 Railroad Avenue.
  • Warrant arrest of male 8:45 a.m. on 4200 First Street.
  • Public intoxication arrests: Pleasanton male 8:59 p.m. on 5700 Northgate Road; Livermore man, 22, 1:14 p.m. on 300 St. Mary Street.
  • Assault reported 11:44 p.m. San Marco Way at Siena Street.
  • Male arrested for alleged possession of stolen property 5:15 p.m. on 5800 Owens Drive.
Tuesday, July 2
  • Arrest for warrant and passing fraudulent checks/bills made 2:57 p.m. of female on 4700 Hopyard Road. 
  • Four males arrested for suspected trespassing 11:20 p.m.on the 2700 block of Lylewood Drive.

  • Residential burglary reported 3:06 a.m. on the 4800 block of Arlene Place, with $1,000 of golf clubs stolen.
  • Commercial burglary reported 10:21 a.m. on 3100 Santa Rita Road. 
  • Car break-ins: 2:25 a.m. on 7500 Driftwood Way, with $675 gun and $200 camera missing; 5:39 a.m. on 5100 Independence Drive, with $125 GPS unit and $5 purse taken; 7:16 a.m. on 6300 Stoneridge Mall Road; 7:23 a.m. on 2500 Raven Road.
  • Missing-person case filed 7:01 p.m. on the 300 block of Rose Avenue.
  • Weapons violation logged on 6700 Santa Rita Road 7:40 a.m.
  • Thefts: 9:29 a.m. on 5000 Owens Drive; 2:20 p.m. on 6200 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Male arrested 1:11 p.m. for public intoxication on 5100 Hopyard Road.
  • Female arrested 2:20 a.m. Bernal and Pleasanton avenues for DUI and domestic assault.
  • Two vegetation fires, possibly caused by fireworks, Sunol Boulevard, Bernal Avenue and I-680 12:20 a.m.
  • Car hits condo and severs water line on St. Michael Circle.

  • Bathroom fire reported on Rachael Place 7:13 p.m.
  • Male arrested 10:49 p.m. for vandalism/defaced property at Main Street and Rose Avenue.
  • Stolen vehicle recovered along 7000 Johnson Drive; time unavailable.
  • DUI arrests: Pleasanton male, 52, 1:25 a.m. Paseo Santa Cruz and Valley Avenue; Livermore woman, 26, 2:11 a.m. Hopyard Road and Owens Drive.
  • Drunk-and-disorderly arrests: male, 31, 2:28 a.m. on 7000 Johnson Drive, also for probation violations; Oakland woman, 20, on 5100 Hopyard Road, also charged with police obstruction 
  • Assault reported 1:11 p.m. Bernal and Vineyard avenues.
  • Warrant arrest of female 12:12 a.m. on 1800 Valley Avenue.
  • Car break-ins: 5:23 p.m. on 7300 Johnson Drive; 11:19 p.m. on 4700 Willow Road, with a $10 wallet containing $80 cash taken.
