School District Announces New Principal of Amador Valley High School

Information from the Pleasanton Unified School District--

The PUSD Governing Board has approved Mr. Tom Drescher as the new Principal of Amador Valley High School. Tom replaces Mr. Jim Hansen, who is retiring.

Tom served for five years as the Principal at Tamalpais High School in the Tamalpais Union High School District from 2008 - 2013. Tom also served as Assistant Principal (also at Tamalpais High School) during the 2007-08 school year. 

Prior to his administrative positions, Tom served as a high school counselor, head counselor, and guidance director for eight years. He began his career in education as a special education teacher for five years in New York state.

Tom has a B.A. in psychology from the State University of New York, an M.S in Counselor Education from Canisius College, and his administrative credential from the University of California at Riverside. Tom is currently completing an educational doctorate (Ed.D.) program at San Francisco State University.

Tom is excited to be joining the administrative team in Pleasanton and meeting with the staff at Amador.
