Police Log: 'Helpful' Boyfriend Drunk and Delusional; Plus, Graffiti Translation, Anyone?

Burglars hit homes and businesses, and more from July 7 to 13.

A police officer driving northbound on I-880 Tuesday at 1 a.m. was approached from behind by a vehicle traveling at an estimated 90 mph, according to the Fremont Police Department.

The Fremont officer stopped the driver, who allegedly became belligerent, stating he was on his way to help his girlfriend who lived in Pleasanton and was in distress.

He had not contacted Pleasanton authorities, he explained to police, as "only he could help."

Officers, however, did contact the girlfriend -- an ex, by the way -- who said not only was she okay, she had no idea what he was talking about.

The motorist, a 40-year-old Lodi man, reportedly smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

In other news last week, several graffiti cases were logged, including two reports Friday morning, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

On a Santa Rita Road and Mohr Avenue utility box in white, yellow, black, red, and green paint was the phrase: "WHAT UP FATAL SCOS ARTO X4."

And nearby at Santa Rita and Valley Avenue, vandals scrawled "THATS SOLO SPIOU" in black marker on a Wheels bus sign.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has information about the cases is encouraged to call police at  (925) 931-5100.
